Impact Stories

By God's grace and through the support of generous donors, PCMP has been able to improve the lives of many in Haiti. Here are some of their stories!

My name is Marcellus Dieulens. I graduated from PCMP school on July 11, 2023. … I grew up in a very poor family, both financially and spiritually. My story begins with my mom, who as a very young woman was not finding work… She found herself living on the streets of Port-au-Prince when a young man approached her offering her help. She was in dire circumstances and accepted his offer. A few months later, she became pregnant with this man and he left her never to be seen again. For the second time in her life, she was left to fend for herself on the streets. She was desperate, scared, alone and pregnant, and the Lord laid it on her heart to make the difficult decision to return back home. When she arrived back home, the people in the community showed her love and helped her with what little they had. Shortly after returning home, my mom gave birth to a baby boy. That was me! After my birth, I became very ill due to malnutrition and was taken to a witch doctor. This man took me and my mom into his home so she could be his slave wife. … She had to find a home for me, but stay to serve him. My mom took me to my grandmother who had to beg and do domestic work that helped me to be able to go to school. When I reached 8th grade, she could not support me any longer. At this time I also became very sick. God healed my sickness, but I was very worried because I had no one to help me or take care of me. At this time a lady who knew of my situation called Pastor Jude… After hearing about my situation, Pastor Jude kindly agreed to help me and has supported me for the past 5 years. This is one of the great gifts I received from PCMP. The best gift I received while attending PCMP school is coming to know Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. … Thank you for letting me share my story with you. My life reminds me of this verse, " You have changed my sadness into a joyful dance; you have taken away my sorrow and surrounded me with joy. So, I will not be silent, I will sing praise to you, Lord, you are my God, I will give thanks forever" (Psalm 30:11-12)

My name is Joanne Elvinor. I am a teacher at Philadelphia Christian school of Fontaine. Today is a privilege for me to share my testimony about what PCMP has done for me and my family and the community of Fontaine. After my husband and I got married, life became very difficult for us. We came to a point where we couldn't bring food to the table to take care of the two beautiful children God gave us. Somehow the Lord brought Pastor Jude to my family and became not only a close brother to my husband, Kener, but a father who cares very much for our family. In 2013 Pastor Jude saw in Kener a good potential fellow co-worker in the work that the Lord is doing at PCMP in the community of Fontaine. Pastor Jude hired him as the 1st grade teacher at Philadelphia Christian School of Fontaine. After 5 years teaching the class, my husband became very sick. Since he was the only one working to bring food to the table things would become worse. Not only did we have two kids to feed, Kener is very ill… I did not know what to do… I prayed but… I couldn't remember God's promises for our lives. But little by little the Lord strengthened me and reminded me of His love and mercy. In the midst of our difficult time, Pastor Jude never gave up on us. Not only did he keep my husband on the payroll, he stepped in to help with the hospital bill. ...but…Kener's health continued to degrade. Pastor Jude, through PCMP…with the support he received… accompanied my husband to the Dominican Republic where he was diagnosed with TB and received treatment. Today, praise the Lord, my husband is well, strong and healthy! Added to that, Pastor Jude invited our family to live with him in the missionary home in town so we can be closer and be helpful to each other. I can only wish that I find the right way to express my gratitude toward PCMP and Pastor Jude. … I know the Lord will continue to bless this ministry to help advance His Kingdom in the community of Fontaine. I am also grateful that the Lord gives Kener and I the opportunity to serve in return at PCMP. Thank you and may the Lord bless each and everyone.

St-Juste and Silmonise and their 4 children were living in extremely challenging and difficult conditions near Fontaine. Upon making their need known, several generous donors provided the funds needed to build a new home for the family. In a short amount of time, they were able to move into their newly constructed block house with cement floors, wooden doors, windows, and a metal roof. Their new home provides them with a secure, safe, and healthier environment that will positively impact their lives forever. Praise God for providing the funds through the kindness of others!
