God Has Not Given Up on Haiti

8/18/2024

"Being confident of this that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus" Philippians 1:6

The socio-political-economic situation in Haiti continues to pose many difficult challenges. However, I am confident that the good work initiated through the ministry of PCMP in Haiti will be carried on by the Lord and brought to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

With a heart full of gratitude, I want to take a moment to thank you for your unwavering support, continued prayer, and positive engagement. We trust God through the challenges and we rejoice in the triumphs! God continues to bless the ministry of PCMP, and God is working through your support and transforming lives! Thank you!

SCHOOL UPDATES

Unfortunately, the children in the capital city of Port-au-Prince were unable to attend school this year due to the daily intensified gang violence and political and civil unrest that continue to plague Haiti. We are incredibly grateful that the Fontaine-Pignon community has remained safe and calm, allowing our children to continue their education with minimal interruptions.

Even though our school has not been directly affected by the gang activity, the situation has significantly impacted our daily operations. The rising costs of fuel and food have made it challenging for teachers and students to attend school regularly and punctually.

OUR KINDERGARTEN

Four years ago, I walked to the empty site of our current kindergarten building, envisioning young children seated in classrooms in a beautiful building, and hearing the joyful laughter of children playing on a playground. I was uncertain of what the year ahead would bring.

It's hard to believe that three years have passed, and on June 27, 2024, we held our first Kindergarten graduation ceremony. Parents and teachers fondly remember the first day they walked hand in hand into the brand-new kindergarten building. They recall how nervous the children were, and now they are proud to see their children grow and proudly graduate! All things are possible with God! We praise him because of YOU! With your prayers, and generosity we were able to build this building that has been a valuable asset to our children and our school!

OUR HIGH SCHOOL

The 12th graders finished taking their government exam on August 8th, and their graduation ceremony was held on Aug 15th. They eagerly celebrated their accomplishment, filled with happiness and pride! Many are uncertain about their future path. Let's pray that they recognize the unique call that God has placed on each of their lives

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT: Meet Nadia Louis

I would like to introduce you to one of our excellent teachers, Nadia Louis. Last year Nadia and her family were forced to flee their home in Port au Prince, finding refuge in our community. While it was a devastating situation for the family, we are grateful for God's provision for our school. Nadia's excellent training as a kindergarten teacher and her educational work with the students has elevated our school's ranking to number one in the community!

The Pignon/Fontaine area remains safe allowing completion of the school year with minimal interruptions.

Praise God for the 5 people who trusted Christ as their Savior through the ministry of PCMP and for 12 individuals who have chosen to fellowship with us at Philadelphia Christian Church

Praise God for providing the funds to build a home for St-Juste and Silmonise and their 4 children!

Praise God for your faithful commitment to supporting PCMP through your prayers and financial contributions! YOU are making a difference and impacting people's lives!

PRAYER REQUESTS

Pray for guidance, wisdom, and discernment for Jude as he faces many daily challenges as a school administrator, pastor, and involvement in the community

Pray for Jude's continued good health, safety, and protection in Haiti and during his travels.

Please pray for our graduating seniors, that they would earnestly seek the Lord and know His purpose and plan for their lives. Only God can direct their hearts and minds towards a future filled with hope and meaning in seemingly hopeless circumstances.

Pray for God's provision to provide adequate and competitive salaries for the teachers and staff as many of them face the challenges of soaring costs of food, gas, and basic necessities for their families. In addition, some are taking in family members fleeing the violence in Port-au-Prince, which further increases their economic hardship

PRAY FOR HAITI!

We desperately need God's intervention to bring social, economic and political stability to Haiti so that families and communities can have the basic necessities of food, water, shelter, and safety in order to thrive.

"I am the Lord the God of all mankind, is anything too hard for me?" Jeremiah 32:27

CHURCH UPDATES

Our local Church in Fontaine continues to flourish as we see continued spiritual growth through the participation of young and old in various church-led activities including:

Our youth continue to passionately serve 30 widows in our church and community each week. They demonstrate God's love through their care and compassion for the elderly, often with limited resources.

Ladies Conference

Ladies from 5 different communities and all walks of life gathered together for prayer, fellowship, and worship. This year's theme was discipleship. The Lord is working in many of their hearts. They are passionate about proclaiming Christ and multiplying disciple-makers for the glory of God.

New Believers in Christ and New Church Members

Meet New Believer: Mrs. Vener St-Fleur

“I was a fervent servant at the Catholic Church in the community but did not have a personal relationship with Jesus. Many times, I had recurring dreams where I see myself worshiping and doing activities at Philadelphia church. Even though I was born in the Catholic Church and I want to stay in it, the dreams occurred so often that they started to attract my attention and I began to question their meaning. I am still not sure what that dream is about, but I take it as a call to give my life to Jesus. Please pray for me so that I may have a good relationship with Jesus.

We rejoice that two ladies, including Mrs. St-Fleur, have recently accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. In addition, two other ladies have decided to make Philadelphia Church their home churcm the Lord the God of all mankind, is anything too hard for me?" Jeremiah 32:27

PCMP Provides a Family a New Home!

Recently, I was introduced to a family of 6 living in extremely challenging and difficult conditions near the Mssion House. In my heart, I felt compelled to do something to help them. Upon making the need known, several generous donors provided the funds needed to build a new home for the family. In a short amount of time, they were able to move into their newly constructed block house with cement floors, wooden doors, windows, and a metal roof. Their new home provides them with a secure, safe, and healthier environment that will positively impact their lives forever.
